VCE, a coalition of VMware, Cisco and EMC, has taken the wraps off a slew of products which enhances their data center portfolio considerably. The new products consists of low-end types of their integrated infrastructure system, new management capabilities and a SAP software certification.
New Data Center Products
Products such as the Vblock System 100 will help with remote office deployments. Vblock System 200 will help with midsize data center clients. There is also a special Vblock system aimed at the SAP HANA computing and database platform.
This product is capable of delivering 50% better performance. These products will help VCE in addressing new markets. This is good news for the coalition indeed because of late there has been much talk about the three companies following a rather aggressive path individually.
In 2011, VCE was at the $600 million mark in terms of revenues and in the second quarter of 2012, this figure had touched $1 billion run rate.
