Vantage Data Centers, a wholesale data center developer has achieved a 1.12 PUE for its second data center on the Santa Clara campus. This achievement makes this facility one of the most energy efficient in the world. The data centerdata center is also a LEED Platinum candidate. The data center – V2 – was built in a record time frame of 8 months from the ground up and was leased 2 years ahead of schedule. The data center was developed in close consultation with the single tenant occupying the building. The expected savings in power and cooling is in the vicinity of $ 72 million in its first decade of operation.

These savings are being made possible through advanced electrical and mechanical design. Apart from the 1.12 PUE, V2 also has another unique feature to its credit – it is the first vertically scalable wholesale data center. The same physical infrastructure can be used by the tenant to double IT capacity without any disruption.
