The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech networks, is deeply involved in critical aspects of the changing data center market—from developing essential industry-wide standards, to providing strategic business support for operators. As part of its commitment to the success and growth of this market, TIA will bring together tech industry experts for a special event: Optimizing Data Center Performance Workshop, taking place at its Arlington, VA headquarters on October 17 (information and registration is available here).
In our increasingly connected society, the relentless demand for capacity means that data centers are constantly being asked to do more, and to do it faster than ever. Those who design, build and maintain data storage facilities are in the crosshairs—and they recognize that optimization is essential for meeting the day-to-day needs of enterprises and industries, while keeping pace with rapid developments in streaming video, Internet of Things, smart cities, 5G wireless and more. At the same time, they also must deal with challenges presented by interoperability, migrating legacy systems and applications, repurposing central offices into data centers, and introducing virtualized architectures.
To help the industry navigate the changing landscape, the TIA event will offer an interactive and intensive look at data center technology, tools and trends. Panel discussion, such as “What We Can Learn from Hyperscale Data Centers” and “How Edge Computing Impacts Data Center Infrastructure” and “Optimizing Interoperability through Standards” will include experts from CommScope, EdgeConnex, Finisar, Fluke Networks, JSI Capital, KPGCo, Nexans Data Center Solutions, Sumitomo Electric Lightwave and more.
TIA CEO Wes Johnston commented, “TIA recognizes the instrumental role of data centers in meeting the world’s insatiable demand for more connectivity. To support those who design, build and operate data centers, we’re excited to bring together industry leaders to share their knowledge, explore standards and technology solutions, and examine ways of keeping up with the rapid pace of change. Participants will learn about new trends and best practices, and will get a clear look at the latest technology and services for optimizing data center performance now, and into the future.”
The full agenda and registration information is available here. The workshop will be held Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET at TIA Headquarters: 1320 N. Courthouse Rd., Suite 200, Arlington, VA 22201. On Monday, October 16, participants are invited to step inside the Equinix Data Center for a tour of this premier facility in Loudoun County, VA.
