The need to have a data center that is reliable and available is paramount for all businesses. The one thing that can make the difference in this requirement is data center design. Not all designs are made equal. One need of the hour is standards for data center design and this has come about from the agreement between EPI or Enterprise Product Integration and TIA or Telecommunications Industry Association. The partnership has resulted in the TIA-942 Telecommunications Infrastructure Standards for Data Centers.

This will be a certified course which will cover aspects such as installation, architectural considerations and maintenance of data center design. The standard has evolved from a networking standard and 78% of data center professionals have already been using it as a reference point.

The EPI will work towards incorporating this standard in their training programs thus taking it global in a big way. Thus cloud service providers will have a commonly understood platform when taking to clients.
