UBA Gets ISO 27001 Certification For Data Center Operations

One of Africa’s leading banking institutions, United Bank of Africa (UBA), has just been given ISO 27001 certification which denotes the strength of the bank’s commitment to security of its services. The Certification has been granted for its Internet Banking application and data center operations. UBA has also been working to be the best in Risk Management by integrating best in class technology and recruiting the best in manpower too. For UBA, the process of maintaining information security is ongoing, dynamic and evolving constantly.

UBA has focused on internet banking and data center operations as key performance areas in terms of providing risk free and safe banking experience to their customers.

The bank has invested heavily in fraud detection solutions, information security and improved its internal processes. It has allied with Paladion Networks and Paladion’s local partner, Logicel to achieve this level of security. The bank’s IT Risk Management department is also hard at work at applying the Information Security Governance mechanism into other areas as well.
