The Launch of vCloud Suite

At VMworld 2012, the host company – VMware announced the launch of vCloud Suite and Cloud Ops Forum. The vCloud Suite is a new bundle for virtual data centers and helps in creating an agile data center for customers.It is built around vSphere 5.1 and comes at the onset as version 5.1 too. Products such as vCloud Director and vCloud Networking and Security have been included in the product. The two higher levels of the product are vCloud Suite Advanced and vCloud Suite Enterprise.

The former includes the vCloud Operations Management and the latter the vCenter Site Recovery Manager. The Cloud Ops Forum is set to be a new community for cloud provider partners and will help in imparting training and education for IT managers who can then go on to benefit from the cloud.

VMware is also joining the OpenStack Foundation whose aim runs parallel to the one outlined in the Cloud Ops Forum.
