Raritan’s Data Center Infrastructure Management Solution On Display

March 20, 2012 2 Comments »

Raritan has put its DCIM (data center infrastructure management) solution on display at the AFCOM Data Center World. The solution highlights its benefits like decrease in costs, complexity and possible errors with the use of better and smarter asset management capabilities. On display is the dcTrack 2.6 DCIM software as well. This solution works in tandem with an IT asset tracking system which will help boost data center operations efficiencies and help with better data center inventory and reduce errors in the same. It also delivers better uptime and reliability.

Essentially, it works when the company’s smart electronic asset- tracking solution records the information of a movement in a server or when it is deployed in a rack. This recorded information is shunted across to dcTrack. dcTrack in turn ensures there is compliance with the change policy of a data centerdata center and updates inventory records, thus making it accurate.

Industry experts feel that this is an “innovative wired approach” and is not only an alternate choice from other methods of inventory tracking but also less expensive and prone to fewer errors as well.
