Profitbricks Taking On IaaS Market

September 11, 2012 No Comments »

ProfitBricks, a cloud computing company, is fairly new to the industry since its inception in 2010, but has made its presence felt in the high end IaaS market. Their core product is a browser based GUI which enables clients to add and configure servers and storage and so on in a very simple manner. In a very ambitious move, the company has set its sights on big names like Rackspace and Amazon with its new data center architecture. The company is promising to deliver cheaper, more flexible cloud services that can change workloads on the fly and will also enable clients to pay per minute.

The company’s key differentiator is that their hosting infrastructure is based on a vertical scale which means that clients can choose server instances with differing numbers of CPU cores. The interface is provided by Data Center Designer which helps deliver instant provisioning and live scaling.
