Cloud Computing

Setting up a business today can cost a nominal amount of money with the use of cloud computing. The cloud, as cloud computing is known popularly, is defined as all the storage and processes that are performed on servers and are accessed through the internet rather than from the computer. There are 5 ways in which using the cloud can help save money.

Cost savings is the first. Investments in technology infrastructure can be eliminated by opting for the cloud. Services such as storage and mailing can be had, for free sometimes by using cloud.

The second savings comes through scalability. Cloud offers the user instant scalability so there is no need to invest in equipment that is not required for immediate use.

Cloud also makes it easier to collaborate with all people and services involved in a business.

The fourth area is using SaaS or Software as a Service. This eliminates the need to invest in software and instead use cloud based technologies. Cloud can also help establish a company and its services quicker than conventional starts ups.

The inputs given by Jamie Riddell, CEO of Digital Tomorrow Today come from practical experience of setting up an advertising agency a decade or so ago and the costs incurred then which could be done at a fraction of the same today with cloud computing.
