July 13, 2012 Comments Off

In the recent past, the data center industry has been abuzz with AOL’s micro data center. this data center in a box concept has hit the headlines for the power and the energy savings that it is promising along with the computing performance too. The company that is manufacturing the world’s smallest data center is EMS or Elliptical Mobile Solutions. Its main customer is AOL of course but from the looks of it, it is only a matter of time before the client list grows. The industry is taking modular data centers more seriously these days since companies are looking for flexibility and scalability too.

The EMS solution is highly “transportable” and depending on the physical space that a company has, can be installed in any space. This solution is, essentially, a rack full of dense computing power. They are called micro modular data centers and come with state of the art cooling and fire suppression technology too.
