Carpathia Set To Open New Data Center

February 22, 2012 No Comments »

Carpathia Hosting Inc. is all set to open a new data center in Dulles. The facility will help the company expand the amount of available data center space for customers from federal, commercial and health care sectors. The data center will be situated on 64,000 square feet and will house Carpathia exclusively. The data center will be built as a joint venture between Digital Realty and Equinix Inc. Both the companies are based in California. The data center should be operational by the end of this year and will be in a position to provide managed hosting and cloud services. It is set to come up at a cost of over $40 million. The data center will be protected by physical security too.

Carpathia is going in for the expansion since its existing data center is near 70% capacity. Since they owned the land next to this existing data center facility, it made sense for the company to sell the same and get a new data center facility as well.
