Telehouse Group, a global player in the dedicated data center space has announced its plans of expansion in the Greater China market. The data center business for the company is being expanded with help to the tune of around $140 billion from its parent company, KDDI Corporation. The new data center will come up in Beijing and furthermore, the company will expand services and facilities into the markets in Taiwan and Hong Kong as well. Customer colo services will be offered in a bigger space in Telehouse Hong Kong CCC.
KDDI Corp. is a $42 billion telecom giant and has worked in collaboration with SINNET of Beijing to create Telehouse Beijing BDA Co. Ltd. SINNET is a provider of data center and internet services. The company already has data centers in places like Shanghai and Hong Kong including one in Beijing.
China’s growth potential is an attractive feature for the data center business and that is one of the reasons for the expansion plans.
