Survey On Asia Pacific Data Center Trends

Digital Realty a global data center solution provider has announced the results of an independent study it had commissioned. The study focused on the data center trends in Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong and polled senior decision makers in large corporations. 300 IT decision makers were surveyed in this study, conducted by Campos Research and Analysis, which targeted companies with annual revenues of minimum US$ 500 million.

76% of the respondents are definitely or probably going to expand data center infrastructure in this year. Only 17% have no plans for data center projects either this year or the next, 64% of the respondents have built new data center projects in the last 2 years.
For those companies with plans to expand data center projects, 82% plan to use a partner for the same.

22% are looking at building their data center by themselves. Most of the new data centers are coming up in Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo.

The highlights of this survey point to strong demand for data center space in Asia Pacific.
