New e2XHD Patching System allows tool-free install of fiber and copper cassettes
Leviton Network Solutions, a division of Leviton Manufacturing, today announced the release of the e2XHD Patching System, a flexible, pre-terminated solution for copper and fiber applications in data centers. The easy-to-connect, high-density system includes a 1RU Angled Panel, copper and fiber snap-in cassettes and accessories for additional protection and cable management.
“Developed with customer input, the e2XHD System increases density, adds flexibility, and simplifies installations, while creating an easy migration path to 40/100G,” said Gary Bernstein, director of fiber and data center product management for Leviton Network Solutions. “As the market for equipment architectures expands, we recognize our data center customers need flexible cabling infrastructure to support their network designs – which is made easier than ever with the e2XHD System.”
The e2XHD 1RU Angled Panel allows mix-and-match of Leviton fiber and copper snap-in cassettes. Each panel accepts up to eight copper and/or fiber cassettes, holding up to 48 duplex fiber channels or 48 copper ports. The e2XHD fiber and copper cassettes quickly snap-in and pull out of the panel, and alignment tabs on the rear of the panel ensure cassettes are inserted properly. To remove cassettes from the panel, users simply pull the handle on the back of the cassette.

Fiber cassettes are available with pre-terminated fiber connectors in 12- or 24-fiber options in OM3, OM4, or single-mode fiber types, and support IEEE 802.3ba standards for 10/40/100GbE applications
The MTP® adapter on the rear of the fiber cassette is adjustable, allowing for easier routing of incoming MTP cables
System accessories include a rear cable manager that snaps directly into the panel, blank cassette inserts for unused cassette openings, and a top cover for the angled panel, minimizing dust or debris
