HP has recently launched it VirtualSystem VS3 for Microsoft and various other new data center products. The announcement came at the MMS (Microsoft Management Summit) Conference in Las Vegas. The stable of data center products integrates directly with Microsoft’s System Center 2012. This is also a part of the company’s data center system products strategy. HP announced this strategy around a couple or so years ago. The products announced at the MMS conference include the VirtualSystem VS3, HP Insight Control for System Center updates for System Center 2012, supper services readiness for System Center 2012 and new storage management packs for System Center 2012.
HP and Microsoft coming together makes available a platform for Microsoft private cloud complete with pre- configured server, networking and storage. The Microsoft software runs on HP ProLiant Gen8 servers.
HP faces competition from the likes of EMC, VMware and Cisco. Oracle and Dell are also players in this space.
