Pulsant, a company that deals with hosting and data center solutions has completed the first phase of its data center in Croydon, South London. The data center lies on 8400 square meters of space and has come up at an investment of £14 million. It has also been kitted out with very advanced security measures – both virtual and physical.Especially in comparison with other data centers in the area, the Pulsant facility is capable of supporting higher power loads.
This ability to support high density rack environments will help serve the needs of business in handling big data. Pulsant has responded to client requests for rack power between 7 and 14kW per rack which, Pulsant CTO, Matt Lovell states will become rather common. The company is also getting ready to design the further expansion of this data center facility to cater for rack densities of 20 to 30kW too. At full capacity, this data center can offer 1680 racks.
