Zenoss has announced improvements in its open source Zenoss Core IT monitoring solution. Zenoss Core 4 is simplifying the way events can be managed. With this upgrade, the product is now capable of monitoring and managing up to 100 million events in a day. It has new extensibility and performance benefits. This has made Windows monitoring significantly easier. The solution can monitor Windows systems remotely without the intervention of third party agents. There is also an improvement in the solution’s ZenPacks approach which extends platform features. Developers can build and test their ZenPacks and deliver higher quality to the community.
Zenoss has also moved to Github and this has meant that developers can link ZenPacks to the Zenoss Core community. The updated solution has a stronger native ability to monitor Windows by leveraging WMI. Other enhancements include ZenPing suppression which means that the solution offers more versatility in terms of ping command.
