Hurricane Electric, the world’s largest IPv6-native Internet backbone and a leading colocation provider, today announced that it is continuing its global network expansion with a new Point-of-Presence at the Interxion Madrid facility, located at Calle Albasanz 71, Madrid, Spain.
The new PoP will expand access through 10GE (10 gigabit Ethernet), GigE (1 gigabit Ethernet) and 100BaseT network connections, and will reduce latency and router hops for Interxion traffic.
This expansion - Hurricane Electric’s fifth global expansion in less than a year - will enable Hurricane Electric to improve fault tolerance, load balancing and congestion management in its IP connectivity services, which includes transit of next-generation IPv6 traffic, as well as IPv4. Additionally, this expansion will allow customers of Interxion to tap into the bandwidth and reach of Hurricane Electric’s rich global network.
“Hurricane Electric is excited to expand its network in Madrid with Interxion,” said Mike Leber, President of Hurricane Electric. “This new expansion will allow customers of Interxion to tap into the bandwidth and reach of Hurricane Electric’s global network. “Hurricane Electric continues to strategically expand its network throughout the globe and will be making additional announcements in the coming months.”
