Cloud Connected Solutions From Cisco

June 13, 2012 No Comments »

Cisco has announced a slew of new products which are a part of its Cloud Connected Solutions portfolio. The portfolio has products such as enhancements to its ISR G2 router, cloud optimization technology and cloud services router. All of them deliver an easier on-ramp to the cloud. The products have been developed based on the philosophy or thought process of the cloud abstracting and yet needing the functionality of computing resources and networking resources. Cisco is hoping to enhance traffic visibility on the ASR router platform and the ISR G2 platform with AVC or application visibility and control technology.

The company is also bringing in better WAAS or wide area application services, acceleration platform with AppNav and WAN optimization. AppNAV will help increase traffic latency and is essentially a traffic steering mechanism. Cisco has also made available a cloud based virtual router – the CSR or Cloud Services Router 1000v is the company’s enterprise routing platform in the cloud.
