Cisco Upgrades Security Applications

Cisco, one of the big names in the networking arena has launched a new set of security applications that are aimed at delivering higher levels of protection to data centers. Specifically, the security apps will offer protection to mobile workforces and data centers when they migrate to virtualized and consolidated environment.The end to end security solutions are inclusive of new software for the company’s Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) firewall, data center intrusion prevention system, virtualized ASA for multitenant ecosystems, enhancements to the Cisco AnyConnect secure Mobility Client. ASA 9.0 can scale up to 320 Gbps of firewall and have 1 million connections every second. It also has pay as you grow scalability.

The intrusion prevention system 4500 Series delivers a performance density of 10 Gbps. The Security Manager 4.3 helps in managing a range of Cisco security environments. Cisco AnyConnect 3.1 helps support BYOD environments and Next Generation encryption as well.
